Dr. Detlef Schröder, Executive Director CEPOL The Executive Director of CEPOL, Mr. Detlef Schröder was appointed in this position on 16 February 2018. Before, he has was Acting Executive Director from 1 September 2017 and Deputy Director of CEPOL since August 2009. He is responsible for the overall management of the Agency and the implementation of its Annual Work Programme. Prior to joining CEPOL, he was a Senior lecturer at the German Police University in Muenster, with over 100 publications in national and international police and police science journals and six book publications on Criminology, Crime Prevention and Victimology. Before taking up this position he had a long career within the Police of the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia, starting as Police Officer in August 1980, then rising through the ranks to Chief of the Crime Investigation Departments. Mr Schröder has a Master’s Degree in Social Science, Law and Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Police Management and a BA in Public Administration.
