Contemporary police organisations operate in rapidly changing and complex environments in which, advancements in technology and emergence of novel types of crime and tactics constitute the primary challenges.

Such being the case, the Cyprus Police, in an attempt to contribute to the further understanding of technology-enabled crime and digital threats, organizes its third international police conference, on the topic of “Cybercrime Trends and Threats: European and International Dimensions” on the 11th and 12th of June 2018, which will take place in Nicosia, at the Filoxenia Conference Center.    The Conference is under the auspices, of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nikos Anastasiades.

Against this backdrop, the Conference is expected to amalgamate practice and theory by bringing together key speakers from both strands of domains; that is, academia and operational entities.  Key-note speakers will include, amongst others, leading members of European and International organisations, such as EUROPOL, CEPOL, INTERPOL, FRONTEX, the F.B.I. and others, practitioners from law enforcement agencies, heads of Services from the European Commission and the Council of Europe as well as distinguished academics and researchers from numerous Universities, who have expertise in the area of cyber-crime.

Moreover, the Conference intends facilitating the discussion on and exchange of, cybercrime topics and counter-digital crime experiences, respectively.  In all, and provided that the speakers and guests will derive from various backgrounds, areas of expertise, and territories across the globe, it is anticipated that the Conference will explore a substantial part of cybercrime’s depth and breadth.
